Order 66: Food Poisoning. Probably.

Hey y'all! What a week. This was one of those longgg weeks in the mission. Mostly because yesterday felt like a week on its own, but I'll get to that.

Most of the week was actually pretty good! We did do a lot of the same kinds of things that we do pretty much every day (like stopping by people tracting, and teaching member lessons) but there was some exciting stuff thrown into the mix too!

First off, we got to do service at WAC (West Ave. Compassion) and hand out food, but we also got to do exchanges with our zone leaders that day. I went to their area for the day which was awesome and also strange because it's a Spanish area...and I don't speak Spanish. We held FHE with some people who are being taught there and we also gave a church tour to this really cool guy they had just started teaching! It was fun because they go to the St. Cloud building, and I served in the Castle Hills Ward there about a year ago. Super awesome bonus was that I got to see one of the members we were close with named Albert! They were playing basketball there and I got to catch up with him for a couple minutes, and he let me know he's going to the temple for his endowment this week! I'm so excited for him.

We also taught a lesson that night. I say "we" but really I just sat there and nodded and smiled as I tried to follow the conversation ha. It was fun trying to figure out what they were talking about using my knowledge of the lesson and my very limited Spanish. They were cool and I only got teased about not being able to speak Spanish a little bit.

The next day we had Zone conference, which is always fun! I love getting to see other missionaries from past areas and people I've become friends with out here. It's also just a really nice recharge for the transfer.

We actually found a person this week!
This area is notorious for being hard to find people to teach in, but we met a lady named Nancy who could potentially be really cool. The lesson we set up with her ended up falling through, but she had some really good potential. She was really fascinated by the Book of Mormon and seemed interested in learning more, so were pretty excited! Hopefully things work out.

We also had a really funny member meal that night. Well, the meal itself wasn't funny (except for the fact that we were all drinking Prime since the city was doing work on the water supply) but the funny part was afterward when the dad brings us upstairs and shows us his insane Funko Pop collection. Mind you, this is a fully grown man in his 40s or even 50s and he has a collection of toys that is probably valued somewhere around $100,000 or more. It's insane. He has a Buzz Lightyear one that is valued at $950 just on it's own! Fortunately, he bought them all at retail value so he's just going to cash in on them sometime. It's kinda nuts.

We had pizza night at the Strocks again on Friday! It was actually National Pizza Day, so it was very fitting. It was delicious and also fun getting to see people from the YSA again. We also did probably 3 solid hours of finding that day too, which was...not so fun, but it's just part of life!

Sunday was, uh, eventful. We had our usual 5-ish hours of church and my companion and I got to share our testimonies of the Book of Mormon from the pulpit. Believe it or not, that was actually the first time in 15 months that I've been asked to speak in church! I've sung multiple times, but this was actually a first for me ha.

We had two friends come to church and we had a lesson with one after sacrament meeting. A bunch of people ended up asking to join the lesson, so it was a big group of 7 people. We only got through the first half of the Plan of Salvation, but it was still really good.

We had an early dinner at 3:30, and this is where my troubles begin.
We had homemade "Cafe Rio" which was sweet port, beans, rice, and other toppings and it was really good! Until we left. I just started feeling sick out of nowhere and yeah. I'll spare you the details, but that persisted throughout the night. It was probably the sickest I've ever been and I'm honestly still recovering.
0/10 experience. Wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.

I love you all so much and I hope you have a fantastic week. God bless, y'all!

Love,
