Week 13: Rain, Fog, and Overcast Skies

Howdy hey yall! Greetings from the great state of Texas. The land of the free and of very strange weather patterns. I totally thought it was going to start warming up but now we're randomly getting some terrific...uhh grey. Everything is very grey. Grey skies, grey clouds, horrible grey sidewalks, and random sheets of rain from out of he blue. Er...Well. Out of the grey, rather. (Also yes, the sidewalks in San Antonio are terrible.) Fortunately, I love this kind of weather, so I'm actually loving it. Something about it that I really love. Can't explain it.

Alright I'm going to stop talking about the weather. Fascinating as it is.

This was a pretty good week for us here.
Taught a good amount of lessons and met some new people to teach. Starting with Tuesday, we had some great lessons with some members and our friend Julio! He's progressing so well, and we're so happy to see him getting more comfortable in the ward. Just an amazing man.

Wednesday was district council and had a phone call lesson with a great lady we met last week. Honestly the rest of the day was knocking on a lot of doors and making a lot of phone calls and texts trying to get in contact with people. So...fun.

Thursday we found several new people and were able to teach some lessons on the doorstep. That's always an interesting experience...especially when they keep their security door closed and you're just talking to the screen and hoping thats where their face is.

Friday was a day hahah. We had our transfer interview with our mission president and then headed over to Julio's house to be proctors for his insurance license test! We basically just sat in the room with him and studied while he took his test haha. And he absolutely ACED it! Mans is a rockstar.

Saturday was one of THOSE days We had several lessons and a bunch of stop-bys planned, and all of the lessons canceled and nobody answered the door. We did meet a bunch of Spanish speaking people while tracting who we were able to talk to in VERY broken Spanish and refer to the Spanish missionaries in the area. Apparently a couple of them are awesome elect people! Excited to see how that all goes.

Sunday was great. A couple of our people showed up to church, and we had a great meeting. The best part of the day was getting to teach Julio about temples though. We were planning to have dinner at our ward mission leaders house (for some smackable spaghetti) and at church he invited Julio to join us! He Had a great time annnnd we got to see his motorcycle, so that's just an added bonus. The lesson went really well after dinner in which we showed him the virtual tour of the Rome, Italy Temple and had a discussion afterwards. (Fantastic video, by the way. Absolutely recommend watching it.)

And now, if you look to your right, you'll see we're now at Monday! Frequently referred to here by the locals as "P-day".
Today so far has been fairly uneventful. Exercised, dropped off some random stuff at Goodwill, bought our groceries for the week, and now we're here! Also planning on getting a haircut. You're welcome mom!

Anyways, I hope yall have a fantastic week! Eat your greens and give someone a hug. Remember kids, a hug a day....keeps the doctors...incapacitated or something. It's a mystery to me.
Jokes aside, I love yall and pray for you every day! Take care, and God bless.

Love,
Elder DeWitt
