Week 60: Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year y'all! I hope 2024 is treating you well so far. If it hasn't then I'm sorry.
I don't have a ton of time to write, so this one may be short. I don't have much to update y'all on since it was Christmas and New Year's weeks where everyone has been out of town. Things have been going well though and I'm happy! Hopefully things pick up these next few weeks though. That would be nice!
Since it's the beginning of the year, I wanted to talk about resolutions! Sort of. Everyone is making goals for 2024 and who really knows how any of them are going to last. Probably a few weeks! As you work on goals and self improvement, I'd encourage you to focus on repentance and sacrifice. (this is more focused on goals to STOP doing things, by the way ha). When we strive to improve ourselves and become more like Christ, that is repentance. When we make sacrifices, we are offering up something TO God. We often think of sacrifice as giving something up, but when we offer up something of ourselves TO the Lord, that is what brings sanctification. They work hand in hand to help us become more Christ-like.
So, as you make your goals and strive to keep them this year, focus on what you can do or give up to become more like Christ!
I could probably talk about this all day long and not even scratch the surface of my thoughts on this, but I'm out of time! Have a happy new year y'all and know that I love you!
Love (again),
Elder DeWitt
