Week 57: And Then There Were Two

I know y'all are just itching to know my transfer news from last week, so I'll just get it out of the way first ha

I'm still in the YSA! Elder Larkins go transferred out so now its just Elder Jones and I. I'm glad I get to finish his training! He's starting to open up more and grow, which is really cool to see.

This will be my third transfer here and I'm pretty happy about it, to be honest. For one, I didn't have to pack up all my worldy possessions into a couple suitcases and get all stressed about what I should pack first and what to leave out till the last minute n all that. It's definitely gotten easier with experience, but I still hate it. I'm also happy that I get to stay with these members. They're so awesome! I'm glad I get to work with them for a little longer. It's also nice being able to be somewhere that feels like home for the holidays. Last year's Christmas was a bit...interesting for me. We didn't have that great of a connection with the ward at the time, so we just sorta did nothing! I'm excited for this year though because even though a good bunch of people are flying home for the holidays, we still have some fun plans this time around. Overall, I'm pretty happy!

One exciting thing from this week was having to call 911 for EMS because Elder Larkins passed out Tuesday morning. He'd been sick the previous day or two (turned out to be the flu) and he was taking decongestants to help. Apparently those can dehydrate you really bad somehow and, because he was sick, he already wasn't drinking much water. He got up early in the morning to take some Tylenol, got dizzy, sat down, and then fainted on the ground. Long story short, I made some calls, EMS showed up and tested his vitals, but he was ok. He ended up going to Urgent Care later to do some blood work to make sure he's ok, but everything came back good. He was just dehydrated and had the flu. It was an interesting couple of days!

Yesterday our friend Brylend and the sisters friend Daniel were confirmed and then in Elders quorum, Ben (who was baptized the other week) and another new member relieved the Aaronic priesthood! It was a pretty sweet Sunday. So far our newly baptized members are fitting in pretty well, which is really great to see. Fellowship is SO important and it makes me really happy to see members taking care of them. Benefits of having a lot of RMs in the ward!

Other than that I don't have much to fill y'all in on and I'm about out of time, so I gotta end here. I love you all, and I hope everyone has a fantastic week! Read your scriptures!

Love,
Elder DeWitt
