Week 48: Big Lou's
Hey y'all!
Time has to be speeding up or something. Monday keeps coming faster and faster every week.
Things here in the YSA have been pretty good! The sisters had a baptism on Saturday for a guy named George (yes they were teaching a male instead of passing him off to us. I'm not bitter, jk) He's super awesome though and he's got a really strong testimony already! He was a referral from out of state who was introduced to the church by some legendary co-workers. Share your joy with others, people! This man was a golden referral and the reason he was found was because he noticed how different his friends were and he wanted to know why they were so happy. We can all bring others to Christ by setting that example and sharing what makes us happy.
The rest of the week was cool. We had a couple lessons that went really good!...but we have to pass off two of them to family wards. One of them was a gray dot (someone who had been "stopped teaching" in the past) that we got a hold of. He was super chill and had a pretty good understanding of what we taught him. He had been taught almost all the lessons in the past and was actually on date for baptism at one point, but he got super busy was was unable to keep his commitment. Nowadays he isn't as busy and told us he wants to be baptized! Buuuuut he has kids so he can't be in the YSA ward so we had to pass him off. Very sad.
The other one was a referral from a member in the YSA! He was a super good listener, really liked and understood what we were teaching him, and also expressed an interest in baptism! But, you guessed it, he has a family. Really bummed out about it them both, but the good thing is that they're still on the path even though we don't get the opportunity to teach them.
I'm getting a lot better as Ultimate Frisbee. My throwing form is improving, I'm not just running around without any strategy, and I'm getting some clutch catches. The more I play the more fun it gets! We need to get some of our friends to come play with us, but it's also a good opportunity to connect with members.
The other day a member took is to a pizza place called Big Lou's. They make what I think is the biggest pizza you should legally be able to make. The one we got was 3 feet across and they have an even bigger one! It's kind of insane. You'd think that at this size the quality would be really trash but it was surprisingly good! It was pretty greasy but the flavor was actually fire and the crust was awesome. It fed 12 people quite comfortably. And not just normal people but MISSIONARIES.
Today is Elder Beyler's birthday! No longer a teenager heh. We're back at Area 51 right now playing sand Volleyball and some other games and later we're going to head out to Fredericksburg to do some bowling with the district I think? Whatever we do I'm sure it'll be fun!
Umm I can't think of anything else super interesting about this week at the moment so I'll just wrap it up. I hope y'all have a fantastic Monday and I'll catch you on the flip side :)
Love,
Elder DeWitt
