Week 38: One Day More

Hey y'all! Happy Monday. Not a ton happened this week so I'll give yall the rundown real quick.

Before that though, we got transfer news on Saturday and...I'm staying in Cotulla! Transfer number 3. I'm getting a new companion tomorrow named Elder Winward! I don't know anything about him except I think he's tall and a redhead. I'll tell y'all about him next week ha.

We taught a few lessons this week. Two of which lead to us having to stop teaching someone unfortunately, but they were still nice. We taught our friend Joe the Gospel of Jesus Christ with a member and that was a sweet lesson. He's a great man but he's just gotta come to church! Sadly his work schedule prevents him from coming, but hopefully we'll find a workaround. Fingers crossed.

We got to do a few hours of service this week as well! Lots and LOTS of weed-eating. An elderly member of our group has basically a forest in her yard of huge weeds because she hasn't been able to have it done for quite a while. We had to split it into two days because there was so much and it was so thick. We actually sprayed it the first time so the second day was a little easier because it was dead. That was quite the undertaking, but it's always nice being able to serve people.
We went to a food bank hand out here in Cotulla this week which is also really fun. Again, service is great.

These last couple days we've been doing stop stop-bys for some people we're teaching as well as some members since Elder Ashby is leaving. People know him pretty well (since he's been here for 6 months) so people were sad to see him leave. A new transfer can be tough sometimes because of that.

Wasn't a super exciting week, but some good things happened that made up for it. It'll be exciting getting a new companion tomorrow and hopefully we'll be able to make some good things happen over the next 6 weeks! I love y'all and I hope this week is fantastic.

God bless!

Love,
Elder DeWitt
