Week 21: A Crawfish and Service Kind of Week...

Happy Monday ya'll! Its already Monday again somehow, so here's another email. It's been an interesting week here! This is a short one though. We got or transfer news last night, and I'm staying in Castle Hills! My companion is leaving for the YSA (young single adult) area which basically covers the whole mission. My new companions will be Elder Fisher who is actually just coming from my last area with my last companion! Should be a good transfer.

Alright on to the report for the week!

We had exchanges again with the district leader which is always interesting haha. Just a little bit awkward when people think they're new and you have to explain that they're only here for a day...we had some good lessons though! It was also beautiful and drizzly all day which was just the best because I love rain.

We got to do service three days in a row this week! We helped an older sister in the ward move some desks and dressers out of her house on Thursday, Friday we helped a bed-ridden member by clearing a bunch of furniture out of a room, and Saturday we hauled debris from a members kitchen to the curb! Home renovations are...messy. Lots of fun though! Getting to do service is super great though. It helps life not get so repetitive.

On Friday we went on a bit of a man-hunt for one of our friends who dropped off the face of the earth a few weeks back. We went to the building we knew she lives in and just...knocked. All the doors. For almost two hours. No luck unfortunately, but the weather was pretty nice so it wasn't to bad at all. We haven't given up yet though!

Crawfish time!
So a couple weeks back, some members from Elder Reynolds last area took us to dinner intending to get Crawfish BUT they ran out before we got there. They had promised to have him try it and they were determined to make good on it, so we tried again on Saturday! We went to a place called Willie's and had some delicious chicken sandwiches and crawfish which was...certainly an experience. It was wAy too much work for a tiny bite of meat, but it was a lot of fun! Great company and some good grub. (and great service!) What more could you ask for?

Sunday was fun. A group of the men in the ward my companion and I sang in church and it was really good! We also had dinner with our ward mission leader and his wife that night, and it was so much fun. They're the funnest couple ever, they have a hilarious baby, and two absolutely adorable psycho pugs. Mix that with delicious chilli and cornbread and learning how to make a tie, and you get a super fun night.

Today has been great so far! We went to this awesome place called Tacos N' Salsa which I think I've talked about before. They make tacos and salsa. (wow. imagine that.) but they make all kinds of super good combinations with potatoes, different meats, avocado, and all sorts of ingredients. Super delicious.

Well, that's kind of all I've got for this week! I hope you all have a fantastic week. Eat your vegetables and read your scriptures! It's worth it.
Love,
Elder DeWitt
