Week 6: Great Clips and Doggos (and lots of service)

Howdy hey, ya'll! Somehow another week has gone by. I really don't know how this happens...

Welp, I'm not really complaining cause time is FLYIN'!
This was definitely a service heavy week but we also got some good missionary work in too. Pretty good balance, I'd say. Let's see what I can remember because I totally forgot to journal this week.

Tuesday was interesting. We had zone conference for...pretty much the whole day. The conference was pretty good though. We heard from a member of the 50 and his wife along with the mission president and his wife. And as a bonus we got fed! (It's always about food in the end, isn't it...) After that, they took our car from us. Ok well, they took our Rav4 and gave us an Equinox because they were worried about it getting stolen because of our area. We are greatly saddened by the loss.
Basically the rest of that day was phone calls and knocking doors. Didn't really go anywhere with those, I don't think.

Wednesday, my companion and I cleaned the crib real good. That's literally what we called it in our calendar. Our apartment wasn't an absolute wreck, but it definitely needed to be cleaned up. The best part of this day though, was definitely our lesson with Julio (and Vanessa)!! We got to teach them about the Restoration, and Julio was SUPER receptive to it! We somehow spent over twice as long as there as we thought we would. He just really wanted to learn and it was awesome. We also helped them stack their dryer on top of their washer. Oh and they have two funny dogs named Poncho and Harley. Poncho is a Boston terrier that is incredibly hyper and only responds to Spanish. He's bug eyed, kinda cross eyed, VERY slobbery, and always brings you his bone (Not for you to take it though. He ONLY wants to show you.) Harley is a pit bull and she is the gentlest dog you'll ever meet. She's such a sweetheart.
Uh sorry, I got a but carried away there with the dogs. It...WILL happen again.

Thursday we played basketball in the morning for exercise haha. Studied, did door to door contacting, made phone calls, then we went to have dinner with the Guillorys. They fed us gumbo which was interesting. It tasted good but it did NOT agree with me. I survived though. We helped them build a bedframe after we shared a message.

Friday was fun! We volunteered at the Food Bank with Hunters for the Hungry again and we actually got to skin the deer this time. Elder Hatfield taught me how to do it right (because he's pretty much an expert) I won't attach my pictures because I don't want to gross anyone out haha. Really fun experience though.

We had a ward party on Saturday that we helped set up for earlier. Not an amazing turnout, but our ward is small anyways. Julio and Vanessa came, which was great! We also met an absolute angel named Charmine who we met knocking doors. She was super nice and super receptive. We hope she gets in touch with us to schedule a meeting.

Today we got hair cuts! Finally. We're headed to play sports with the zone again and then I guess we'll figure it out from there!

Spiritual thought for the week
Go watch the church video "Listen to the Voice of Jesus Christ". My invitation is to watch it and to think about what you can do today to better hear and feel the spirit. Pretty simple, but it's important to think about.

I think that's all I got for this week! Thanks for reading and know that I love you all! Have a fantastic week!

I made a gingerbread house. Pretty good, if I do say so myself.
