In a hole in the ground, there lived a missionary...on a Zoom call
First week of home MTC is in the books! This week has been so full of spiritual growth for me, I can't even put it into words. Due to this predicament, this concludes my email.

Kidding,
obviously. Jokes aside, I really did have such a fantastic experience
with home MTC. I have such an amazing district. We've all grown pretty
close in just the short amount of time we've known each other. I can't
wait to meet them all in person on Wednesday! As much as I've loved home
MTC, I can't wait for Provo. Sitting in front of a screen on a Zoom
call for hours on end is pretty draining, believe it or not!
That being
said, all my classes have been great, and we got to watch
devotional/workshops pretty much every day. Everything has been very
enlightening and helpful! I've also never studied the scriptures this
much before, and wow. There's SO MUCH good stuff I've never noticed
before! I'm honestly really enjoying my personal study time. Makes me
feel smart when I find lil nuggets of wisdom. Well, smart OR inspired.
Or both.
Today Elder Justice (my companion) and I will get the chance to teach a lesson to an actual person! Which is both exciting and nerve wracking for me. I'm sure it will go much better than I'm expecting haha.
Quick
spiritual thought. In part of a training lesson, I read a quote that
stuck out to me. It's a quote from Elder Renlund saying, "Our Heavenly
Father's goal in parenting is not to have His children do what is right; it is to have his children choose to
do what is right and ultimately become like Him." I love this quote
because it draws attention to the fact that God is our Heavenly Father and,
and we truly are His children. He loves us perfectly and he really does
want us to choose to do what is right. Otherwise, He wouldn't give
us a choice. He is God, after all. That was Satan's plan though, to go
contrary to God's divine plan and take away our gift of agency. I know
that God loves us, and because He loves us He gave us the plan of
salvation and the ability to choose. He loves us perfectly and
infinitely.
I wish I had some more to write
about, but it's basically mostly been me sitting at a computer all day
and some shopping trips with my mom...so. Yeah. Not exactly what you
would call eventful. But it was great.
Well, I love you all and I hope you have fantastic weeks!
P.s.
...I didn't take any pictures. Do I regret it now? Yes. Was there
anything to actually take pictures of? Well, not reaaally. I just didn't
want to take pictures of my computer screen heh. I'll make up for it
next week in the Provo MTC!
